Nick started CrossFit in the fall of 2012 and he immediately knew that it was for him. Previously his training was a bodybuilding type approach. He had good strength but was often injured and, looking back, couldn't really move very well. CrossFit has introduced the varied training and mobility that enables him to train at a high level and recover quickly. He now feels that he is a more versatile an athlete than he has ever been before. "I can hit some solid numbers with standard movements (back squat, deadlift, snatch, C+J, etc.) but I also have endurance. I ran a half-marathon in October, 2013 with little more than my standard CrossFit training. I did throw in a couple of 10-12 mile runs in the weeks leading up to the race."
Nick's philosophy on Crossfit and Life: My whole CrossFit experience has been at the same time, humbling and empowering. With the proper training, and a lot of hard work and dedication you start to check goals off your list surprisingly fast. It applies to all aspects of life. The barbell doesn't owe you anything, just like life doesn't owe you anything. To achieve success you have to be proactive. Show up, work your ass off, never get discouraged and never, ever give up.
