Mike started crossfitting in October of 2011 when his boss, also a crossfitter, invited him and a colleague to attend a promotional event at North Shore Crossfit. "I had always worked out - but it was heavy on cardio. I thought I was in shape, but that introduction into Crossfit showed me I was not in the shape I wanted to be in."
Mike hated the OLY (Olympic Lifting) bar at first, but liked everything else. His plan was to go twice a week to crossfit, and continue spending the rest of his time at his home GLOBO gym. But crossfit hooked him. Mike goes 6 days a week pretty much since the beginning. And he can say that "not once in the 2 + years has working out ever been drudgery."
Philosophy on Training: The WODs are like little battles. I like fighting them and I like winning them.
