Jack started Crossfit in his backyard doing mainsite WODs using minimal equipment. He began training and learning more about Crossfit at Crossfit Full Potential with Danny Vadala. At the time, he was predominantly an endurance athlete, and did 3 marathons before focusing on Crossfit in a competitive way. His third marathon was the 2013 Boston Marathon, which he completed with some of his ROTC classmates while wearing his uniform, boots, and a 50lb rucksack. After the marathon, he decided to shift his focus towards competitive Crossfit. Jack competed in his first competition in the 2nd Annual CVCF Winter Throwdown in 2013, and came in 8th. After that, he was hooked.
Not long after, Jack sought out CVCF owner Jade Jenny to be his coach, and ever since he has seen considerable progress in his strength numbers. Jack competed in the 2014 East Coast Championships on a team, and then registered for the Crossfit Open for the first time, where he came in 67th in the region.
Jack is a full time student and an Army ROTC cadet at UMass Amherst in my senior year. He is ranked among the top 10% of cadets in the nation. He will graduate in May and commission into the US Army as a Second Lieutenant. After commissioning he will begin flight school at Fort Rucker, Alabama where he will train to become a helicopter pilot.
